Incognito Mundus Google Chrome

I was not very familiar with Google Chrome browser until yesterday when I downloaded it. I heard it is the “rocket” compared to other browsers, such as Internet Explorer (duh?!), Firefox, Safari, and Opera. My experience so far is okay. I just discover a rather interesting tools though.. that is the ‘Incognito Windows’. The Incognito Windows allow you to open the window without being traced. So it won’t appear on the history and it won’t leave cookies etc.
What amazed and amused me the most is the welcome page.. It says:
Going incognito doesn’t affect the behaviour of other people, servers or software. Be wary of:

  • Websites that collect or share information about you
  • Internet service providers or employers that track the pages that you visit
  • Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
  • Surveillance by secret agents
  • People standing behind you

I read it with full concentration until the last point : “People standing behind you”. With all the cyber activities then you see one that actually happening in the ‘real world’. And come to think of it, it is the thing that we tend to forget.

It is the same situation in using social media. It is good that we have strong online presence but sometimes what we tend to forget and lack is the ‘real-life’ presence as well.  It is important to connect all the aspects the media (on/offline) and the real world itself.  🙂
